What if your greatest fundraising success came not from what you get from donors, but from what you give to them? That question has shaped everything I do. I’ve spent more than 13 years across ethical business, social enterprise and nonprofit leadership. As a General Manager and a Managing Director, I grew purpose driven organisations, beat fundraising targets and secured partnerships with corporates, foundations and major donors. In one role, we grew major gifts by 42% in a single year. Here’s what I learned. The funding was rarely the hard part. The culture around it was. Incredible organisations with incredible stories, and nobody had time to sit across the table from the people who could fund them. Boards holding relationships but unsure of their role. Fundraisers carrying a target the whole organisation should share. That’s why I do what I do now. Not to hand you a report and disappear, but to walk alongside you, build the system with you, and be in the room when it counts. My faith shapes how I do this. I don’t see fundraising as chasing funding. I see it as inviting people into something bigger than themselves, and honouring them when they say yes.
